HBTP supplied 12 units of S13-500kVA/35kV oil-immersed transformers for an island microgrid project in the Visayas region of the Philippines. The microgrid combines solar, wind, diesel, and battery storage to provide 24/7 power to a remote island community.

Project Background

The Philippines consists of over 7,000 islands, many of which lack reliable grid connection. This microgrid project replaces expensive and polluting diesel-only power with a hybrid renewable energy system, reducing electricity costs and improving reliability for island residents.

Requirements included: 500kVA capacity, 35kV/0.4kV ratio, S13 efficiency, suitability for hybrid microgrid operation with variable load profiles, corrosion-resistant construction for coastal island environment, and compliance with Philippine PEC standards.

Quality & Testing
